From Marrakech to Ouirgane

Travel south from Marrakech toward Ouirgane, around 60 km from the city according to the existing itinerary. The road crosses mountain passes and leaves the plains for a cultivated High Atlas valley, where olive groves, almond trees and rural settlements mark the slopes. Marrakech remains the starting and return point for this full-day excursion.

The dam lake and valley paths

Pause beside the dam lake before continuing through the valley. The itinerary includes a light walk on paths lined with oleanders and a planned opportunity to meet residents of nearby douars, or small rural settlements. The walking route offers a closer look at the cultivated slopes and village landscape; surfaces may be uneven, so ask your guide about the day’s route and walking time.

A mountain-inn lunch

Stop for lunch at a mountain inn, where the listed experience is Berber cooking prepared with produce from the garden. This meal break gives the day a slower pace between the valley visit and the return drive.

Return via Tizi n’Test Pass

Return toward Marrakech via Tizi n’Test Pass. The existing route notes panoramic views toward the Souss plain; visibility depends on the day’s conditions, while the road itself continues through the High Atlas before descending toward the city.
