MORNING: RAMPARTS AND ATLANTIC VIEWS

Arrive in Essaouira and begin on the Skala ramparts, where historic cannon platforms open toward the Atlantic and the Îles Purpuraires. Your guide explains the city’s Portuguese-era influences, its role as a coastal trading port and the way sea winds shaped its architecture and daily life.

MORNING: MEDINA, ART AND CRAFT

Continue through the UNESCO-listed medina, known for its whitewashed façades, blue details and lanes that lead between small squares. Along the way, discover art galleries, thuya marquetry workshops and local craft traditions. The visit leaves room to browse respectfully and to ask about the techniques and materials used by Essaouira’s artisans.

MIDDAY: THE FISHING PORT

At lunchtime, head to the fishing port for the seafood meal included in the existing package. Fish and shellfish are selected from the day’s display and grilled to order, subject to availability. Please share dietary requirements in advance so the team can confirm the most suitable arrangement.

AFTERNOON: BEACH, HARBOUR AND FREE TIME

After lunch, see the port, the historic Marine Gate and the beach before enjoying free time. You can browse silver jewellery, argan products and thuya objects, or simply take in the Atlantic atmosphere. The exact balance between shopping, walking and free time can be adjusted to the group’s interests.

RETURN TO MARRAKECH

Leave Essaouira in the late afternoon and return to Marrakech in the evening. The long return journey is part of the confirmed one-day route, so comfortable shoes, water and sun protection are recommended.
