Discover Morocco across generations on a 10-day family route connecting Casablanca, Rabat, Fès, the Middle Atlas, Merzouga, Skoura and Marrakech, with the Ourika Valley shown as a possible day trip. The route below reflects the current outline and includes several long transfers. Before booking, confirm the day order, realistic driving times, overnight stops, accommodation standard, transport, activity availability, accessibility and age suitability with Amoudo Journeys.
Planning note: This is an itinerary outline, not a confirmation that every visit, workshop, meal or accommodation is included or available. The final plan and inclusions must be agreed before reservation. Long road days may need adjustment to suit your family.
Indicative 10-Day Morocco Itinerary
Day 1: Casablanca to Rabat
Depending on arrival time and opening hours, visit the Hassan II Mosque before continuing to Rabat. Confirm the transfer and overnight arrangements in advance.
Day 2: Rabat, Meknès, Volubilis and Fès
The current route links Rabat with Meknès and the Roman site of Volubilis before reaching Fès. This is a full travel-and-sightseeing day; agree which stops are practical and how much time to allow at each one.
Day 3: Fès medina and local crafts
Explore the medina and its historic lanes. A guided food walk or craft workshop may be requested, subject to local availability, opening times and advance confirmation.
Day 4: Fès heritage
Use a second day for selected sites such as the Royal Palace gates, the Mellah, Bou Inania Madrasa or the Chouara tanneries. Choose visits with a local guide and confirm access and timing before travel.
Day 5: Fès to Merzouga
Travel south through the Middle Atlas, with the existing outline mentioning Ifrane, Azrou, Midelt and the Ziz Valley. This is a long transfer. A sunset camel ride or desert-camp stay must be arranged and confirmed separately, including suitability for each family member.

Day 6: Merzouga, Khamlia and the route towards Skoura
The outline includes the dunes, Khamlia and a south-western route via Nkob and Aït Ouzzine towards Skoura. This is an especially long day with several proposed stops. Confirm the route, time on the road and overnight location before treating it as a bookable schedule. Any village visit or hosted activity requires the local host’s agreement.
Day 7: Skoura, Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Haddou to Marrakech
Possible stops in the current outline include Kasbah Amridil, Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Haddou, followed by the Tizi n’Tichka crossing to Marrakech. Confirm a realistic schedule and select only the stops that fit the day; Atlas Studios and cooperative visits are optional and subject to availability.
Day 8: Marrakech
Explore Marrakech at a family-friendly pace. A cooking class or sidecar outing can be considered only after the provider, duration, age requirements and availability are confirmed.
Day 9: Optional Ourika Valley
The existing outline proposes the Ourika Valley, with a choice between a walk near Setti Fatma and a gentler visit. Conditions, access, walking difficulty, local arrangements and return timing should be checked for your family.
Day 10: Departure
Keep time for a final visit or shopping only if it fits your departure schedule. Confirm the departure airport and transfer arrangements; the current outline mentions Marrakech or Casablanca, which are not interchangeable without planning.
