Detailed Itinerary for the Family Visit to Morocco
Day 1: Casablanca and Rabat – First Moroccan Immersion
On arrival at Casablanca's Mohammed V Airport, the family is welcomed VIP-style and takes their seats in a private vehicle with a multilingual driver for the entire circuit.
The day begins with a visit to the Hassan II Mosque, an architectural masterpiece overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Its immense 210m minaret dominates the coastline and its prayer hall can accommodate 25,000 worshippers. The children marvel at the glass floor panels offering a direct view of the waves below.
The road then leads to Rabat, the capital, where the family discovers the alliance of ancient history and modern dynamism. The evening is free to relax and enjoy the charm of the luxury riad selected for the stay.
Day 2: Rabat, Meknès and Volubilis – Imperial History and Roman Ruins
The morning is devoted to the Kasbah of the Oudayas, a 12th-century fortress with winding alleyways and blue-and-white houses. The view over the ocean and the medina allows for magnificent family photographs.
Hassan Tower, with its colossal pillars and unfinished minaret, offers an open space where children can run while grandparents admire the historic site.
After a light lunch, the road continues to Volubilis via Meknès, crossing the fertile plains of central Morocco. The Roman ruins of Volubilis, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, reveal spectacular mosaics, columns and arches. Children explore freely while the family discovers Roman life in Morocco.
The day ends in Fez, where the family settles into a boutique riad. The evening offers a peaceful stroll through the medina for a first immersion.
Day 3: Fez – Craftsmanship, Music and Flavours
The morning begins with a family percussion workshop in a traditional fondouk. Each member makes their own drum, choosing between camel, goat or fish skin. Local artisans teach traditional techniques, and the whole family participates in a convivial music session.
The afternoon is dedicated to a guided culinary tour through the alleyways of the Fez medina. Olives, wild honey, nougat, preserved-lemon tagine, chebakia — each speciality reveals centuries of Amazigh, Arab, Moorish, Jewish and French influences.
The tour continues through the Bab Boujeloud gate, icon of the city, then on to discover Al-Qarawiyyin University, founded in 859 AD, and finally the famous Chouara tanneries. Children observe the colourful vats while adults learn the ancestral methods of leather dyeing.
The zellige workshop allows each family member to create their own geometric patterns to take home as a souvenir.
The day concludes with lunch in a traditional riad and a peaceful evening in the Fez riad.
Day 4: Fez – Medina Immersion and Family Workshops
Continue discovering Fez el Bali, the world's largest pedestrian zone. Visit the Royal Palace gates, the Jewish Mellah and the Ibn Danan synagogue. The family explores madrasas like the Bou Inania and contemplates the Merenid Tombs.
Interactive activities include making small artisanal objects for children and participating in traditional cooking demonstrations. In the evening, the family shares a dinner in an authentic setting to extend the cultural experience.
Day 5: From the Middle Atlas to the Sahara – Merzouga and Dunes
Depart Fez for Merzouga, through the Middle Atlas mountains and the cedar forests of Ifrane, nicknamed "Morocco's Little Switzerland". Observe Barbary macaques near Azrou, walk through mountain landscapes and have lunch in Midelt.
Crossing the Ziz Valley offers spectacular views of palm groves and Berber villages. Arrival in Merzouga, gateway to the Sahara, for a sunset camel trek through the dunes.
Dinner is served beneath the stars in a luxury camp with private bathrooms, followed by guided stargazing to discover constellations and Berber legends.

Day 6: Sahara and Berber Villages – Nkob and Aït Ouzzine
Sunrise over the dunes offers an unforgettable spectacle for the whole family. The road continues to Khamlia, a Gnaoua village, for a musical and cultural immersion.
The family visits Nkob, the village of 45 kasbahs, and participates in a unique experience in the isolated village of Aït Ouzzine:
Berber cooking class with preparation of tagine and couscous.
Bread-baking on volcanic stone, using ancestral techniques.
Tea ceremony and henna, a social and artistic ritual.
The day ends in the Skoura oasis, with relaxation by the pool of the kasbah hotel nestled in the palm grove.
Day 7: The Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and Aït Ben Haddou
Morning in the Skoura palm grove with a visit to the Amridil Kasbah, a 17th-century fortified house.
Optional: visit the Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate, famous for films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Guided visit of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed site — explore narrow passages and enjoy panoramic views over the valley.
Spectacular crossing of the Tizi n'Tichka pass in the High Atlas, with stops at a women's argan oil cooperative.
Arrive in Marrakech late afternoon and orientation walk through the medina. Night in a luxury riad.

Lunch based on the family's creations.
In the afternoon, explore Marrakech by vintage sidecar — off the beaten track — discovering secret gardens and picturesque neighbourhoods.
Free evening on Jemaa el-Fna square, a living spectacle of storytellers, musicians and artisans. Night in the riad.
